The Scottish Borders has some of the most breathtaking scenery in the UK. The absolute must is to climb from the campsite up to the top of Ruberslaw (424 m). You will have a fantastic 360° view south and east over Rulewater to the Cheviots and the English Border, north over Teviotdale to the Eildons, Ettrick Forest and the Moorfoot Hills, and west to Craik Forest. There are miles of off road, or quiet minor-road riding routes radiating from the campsite. We are in the heart of the Jed Forest Hunt, and the area is well used to horses passing through. READ MORE…
Stand on Ruberslaw's rugged summit like an Iron Age farmer/warrior in the tribes' hill fort, worrying about Roman Governor Agricola's legions advancing in 80 AD over the Cheviots Hills, down Rulewater and into Teviotdale. READ MORE…
If your stay is aimed at relaxation and gentle activity during the day, perhaps with several different focal points in the day for the kids, there is a lot to do without spending hours in the car. READ MORE…

Spring is definitely here at last! The pond is full of life, the frogs, toads and newts are enjoying the sunny days and the new aquatic plants are growing well. A camper in Castle View had a nice morning watching a robin build a nest right beside his pitch and only last week visitors to Roe Deer Rest spotted the Goshawk!
Welcome to 2018, we open for the season on Friday 23rd March. Nicky, Cath and Rae are busy getting the campsite ready for your visits, we're all looking forward to seeing returning and new faces arriving on site! The birds are singing, deer are visiting and the garden is showing sure signs of growth - bliss!
Thank you for all the great reviews. We have just been awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the 4th year in a row as a result! Having been Runner Up in the Best Campsite Category in the Scottish Outdoor and Leisure Awards 2016 , and "Scottish Borders Tourism Business of the Year 2015 we are very glad people feel we are still providing a wonderful camping experience.
Hub Hero Nicky & Hill Hero Rae recently enjoyed a great day out on a Familiarization Trip organised by the Borders Railway outreach programme, and now know all about lots of things to do and visit when you are with us. So please do pick their brains.
Hub Hero Cath's horticultural skills are producing wonderful fresh veg. and seedlings for sale through the Honesty Box outside reception
The wonderful sunny spell has been enjoyed by returning and new tented camping friends, and we look forward to seeing you (provided you have a tent of course, or are Glamping in our remote but luxurious Safari Tents - we are not able to take caravans, motor homes or trailer tents)
